It wasn’t a matter of “if” but more of “when” the snow would hit Greater Sudbury and yesterday as much as 35 centimetres was dropped on the city.

Snow plows were busy beginning at 3 am this morning, with still many of the side roads covered with snow.

General Manager of Infrastructure Services, Tony Cecutti says even though it was the first major snowfall of the season they were ready.

Cecutti says it tipically takes 24 hours to plow all side roads after the completion of a snowfall like the one we had.

Cecutti says the biggest challenge was the drifting snow.

The snow is expected to slow down tonight and end by tomorrow afternoon.
