All secondary school’s in Greater Sudbury will be receiving mannequins so Grade 9 students get experience with proper CPR techniques and uses of a defibrillator.

The Advanced Coronary Treatment(ACT) Foundation along with community partners, the Ontario Trillium Foundation and Hydro One donated more than 150 mannequins today as part of the ACT High School CPR and Defibrillator Training Program.

Sudbury M-P-P Glenn Thibeault says with 8 out of 10 cardiac arrests happening at home or in public places, these are skills that could be needed at any time.

The ACT High School CPR and Defibrillator Training Program, is set up in over 17 hundred schools nationwide and will provide over three thousand local students with hands on training this year.
