Charges have been laid against Gerry Lougheed Junior for his alleged connection to the Sudbury by-election scandal.
The O-P-P say Lougheed is facing one count of counselling an offence not committed and one count of unlawfully influencing or negotiating appointments.
O-P-P Detective Superintendent Dave Truax says it was a complex investigation that began back in January.
He says if convicted of both charges, Lougheed faces five years in prison.
His first court appearance is November 18th.
