Four victims of a mining tragedy at Falconbridge Mine are still remembered 31 years after the seismic event underground claimed their lives.

Every year on June 20th a Worker’s Memorial Day is held to not only remember the miners but all workers who have died on the job since then.

President of Mine Mill 598 Unifor Anne Marie MacInnis says more work needs to be done to reach the  the goal of no more tragedies at the work site.

It was back on June 20th 1984 when a rock burst claimed the lives of four miners working underground.

A Workers’s Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 9:30 tomorrow morning at Finlandia Village.
