Headliners For Northern Lights Festival Boreal 2015

Northern Lights Festival Boreal plans to share music from all over the world this summer when it returns to the shores of Ramsey Lake.

The theme for this year’s Northern Lights Festival Boreal is “Collecting the World” with a long line-up of music from all across the globe.

The 44th annual music festival will once again be set up in Bell Park, this time for the weekend of July 3-5.

Artistic Director Paul Loewenberg is thrilled with the talent coming to Sudbury.

There was such a huge response to Melbourne Ska Orchestra during last year’s NLFB that organizers asked them to return for 2015.

Along with the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, other headliners are Sara Harmer on the Saturday night and Dan Mangan + Blacksmith on Sunday night.

Our newsroom asked Executive Director Max Merrifield for recommendations: he says Melbourne Ska Orchestra and Five Alarm Funk are high energy dance bands guaranteed to move the crowd.

But Merrifield loves that the festival is about discovering new music so he hopes music lovers check out Lee Harvey Osmond, the pseudonym of Tom Wilson from Blackie and the Rodeo Kings.

NLFB is Canada’s longest running outdoor music festival and Loewenberg says it’s so popular because it appeals to fans of all different types of musical genres.

The entire line-up is posted at nlfbsudbury.com
