A report to come to Sudbury city council in the Spring, could help determine the future of HCI funds, and it will feature comments from a public consultation session held tomorrow night.

Healthy Community Initiative Funds are allocated to councillors each year to spend on enhancements or projects within their ward, but are currently frozen by council until the public has their say as part of council commitment to openness and transparency.

Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee and Ward 7 Councillor, Mike Jakubo says what to do with the funds is one of council’s strategic priorities.

Jakubo did say however he doesn’t believe HCI funds will be eliminated altogether.

The meeting will begin at 6 pm in Council Chambers at Tom Davies Square, comments can also be submitted on the city’s website until Friday.

Those who cannot attend are able to submit comments on the city’s website until Friday.
